LETTER TO COUNCIL
SUBJECT: Cancellation of St. Patrick's Day Event at Seaview Hotel
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform members of Council that the upcoming
St. Patrick's Day brunch at the Seaview Hotel has been cancelled due to the similarity and
hotel's preference to offer a similar dinner promotion at their discretion on the same day.
Originally, staff had been directed to coordinate a possible brunch at the Seaview to celebrate
the traditional feast and holiday. However, due to constraints the department was unable to
get a plan in place before the Seaview began advertising their own private offering late last
month. Instead, the department has chosen a more prudent route and has focused efforts on
the upcoming Spring Egg Hunt to be held at the Park and Mother's Day Brunch festivities for
May.
