SUBJECT: Bal Harbour Police Department Weekly Report for the week of
March 20 - March 26, 2015
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to transmit to you a Weekly Report from the Bal
Harbour Police Department that I requested in order to enhance the flow of communication and
transparency.

Of Collins Avenue
Narrative
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, officers noticed spilled gravel on the roadway between 9700 and 9800 Collins Avenue. The
gravel spill was confined to the outside lane. Officers suspect the gravel may have spilled from a passing truck. As a precaution, the outside lane
was temporarily closed to vehicular traffic. Public Work's employees were asked to remove the gravel. At approximately 7:00 P.M., the
roadway was re -opened for normal traffic Flow. No injuries or traffic crashes were reported.

St. Regis Hotel
Narrative
Two males were captured on surveillance video entering the Fresno Bar located at the rear of the St. Regis Hotel. The males entered the hotel
through the beach hard pack. Once inside, the males removed two bottles of champagne from the refrigerator located behind the bar. The males
then exited the rear of the St. Regis Hotel onto the beach hard pack area. Bal Harbour Police Officers arrived and canvassed the area for the
suspects. However, they were unsuccessful in locating them. A broadcast with a description of the males was issued to all neighboring agencies
along with a flyer portraying the suspects' still images.

10200 Collins Avenue (Jetty)
Narrative
A female drove her vehicle onto the jetty. According to her statement, she was following the directions of her CPS navigation system. The
driver stated that she realized the area was not authorized for vehicular traffic and attempted to exit the jetty in reverse. While reversing her
vehicle, she drove off the jetty and onto the sand, where the vehicle became stuck. A wrecker was requested and the vehicle was removed from
the jetty. The Bal Harbour Police Department completed an incident report documenting the occurrence and cited the driver. The incident did
not cause any damage to the beach nor to the jetty.

Narrative
The But Harbour Police marine unit was flagged down by a boater and informed of two kayakers who were struggling in the water. The vessel
located the kayakers, who stated they were attempting to board the kayaks and had become fatigued. The officers placed the individuals on
board and returned them to their vessel. The individuals did not require medical attention.

Narrative
The Bal Harbour Police marine unit assisted the Miami Dade Police Department with a disturbance at the Haulover Sandbar. Bal Harbour
Police officers provided a back-up presence while the Miami Dade Police marine unit conducted the investigation.
