AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 65 -170 OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY PLUMBING CODE AS CONTAINED IN
THE 1968 EDITION OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BUILDING
LAWS AND PUBLISHED BY THE BUILDING NEWS, INC. AND
INCLUDING APPENDICES A, B, C, F AND G, AND MAKING
OTHER AMENDMENTS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 65 -170 entitled "Plumbing Code"
adopted August 17, 1965, is hereby amended by adopting by reference,
except as hereafter provided, that certain Plumbing Code known and
designated as the Los Angeles County Plumbing Code as contained in
the 1968 Edition of the Los Angeles County Building Laws and publish-
ed by Building News, Inc., and including Appendices A, B, C, F, and G
of said Los Angeles County Plumbing Code and such code shall be and
become the Plumbing Code of the City of Temple City, regulating
plumbing and drainage systems, house sewers, private sewage disposal
systems and prescribing conditions under which such work may be
carried on within the City of Temple City and providing for the
issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor.
Three copies of said Los Angeles County Building Laws have
been deposited in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Temple
City and shall be at all times maintained by said Clerk for use and
examination by the public.
Said edition of the Los Angeles County Plumbing Code, ex-
cept as hereafter provided, is hereby substituted for, and shall take
the place of, the Plumbing Code set forth in said Ordinance No. 65 -170
and such amending ordinances previously adopted.
SECTION 2. Whenever any of the following names or terms
are used in said Los Angeles County Plumbing Code, each such name or
term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it
in this section as follows:
"Administrative Authority ", "Chief Plumbing Inspector" or "Plumbing
Inspector" shall mean the County Engineer of the County of Los Angeles
except in Section 3 of said Plumbing Code.
"Board of Examiners of Plumbers, Gas Fitters, and Sewerage Con-
tractors" or "Board of Examiners" shall mean the Board of Examiners of
Plumbers, Gas Fitters, and Sewerage Contractors of the County of Los
Angeles established by Section 73 of the said Los Angeles County Plumb-
ing Code.
"City" shall mean the City of Temple City except in Section 2 of
said Plumbing Code.
"County ", "County of Los Angeles" or "unincorporated territory of
the County of Los Angeles" shall mean the City of Temple City.
"Gas Fitting Contractor ", "Journeyman Gas Fitter ", "Journeyman
Plumber ", "Plumbing Contractor ", or Sewage Contractor" shall mean a
person holding a valid Certificate of Registration issued by the County
of Los Angeles as set forth in Section 72 of said Los Angeles County
Plumbing Code.
SECTION 3. Section 324 of the Plumbing Code of the City of
Temple City shall read as follows:
"Section 324. Violations and Penalty. Every person who violates
any of the provisions of this Code is guilty of a misdemeanor and each
such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and
every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the
Ordinance No. 68 -269, page 2
provisions of this Code is committed, continued, or permitted, and
upon conviction is punishable by a fine not exceeding $500. or by
imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding six
months or by both such fine and imprisonment.

I, Karl L. Koski, City Clerk of the City of Temple City,
California, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 68-
269, was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Temple City, held on the 18th day of June , 1968, and
was duly passed, approved, and adopted by said Council, approved and
signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk at a regular meet-
ing of the said City Council held on the 16th day of June , 1968,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Beckley, Harker, Merritt, Tyrell, Briggs
NOES: Councilmen- None
ABSENT: Councilmen- None
