I. Call Meeting to Order Member McKee called the meeting to order at 6:13 p.m. II. Agenda Adoption Motion: Member McKee motioned to adopt. Second: Member Tesoro seconded. Vote: Unanimous. III. Consideration of Minutes of February 14, 2017 and March 23, 2017, Regular Meetings Motion: Member McKee asked for comments or changes and there were none so she moved to approve minutes from February 14, 2017. Second: Member Tesoro seconded. Vote: Unanimous. Motion: Member McKee motioned to table the minutes from March 23, 2017. Second: Member Tesoro seconded. Vote: Unanimous. IV. Review and comment on draft logo concepts i. Comments on Logo A, B, C Member Tesoro commented that she did not like the shape of Logo A or Logo C because it looked like a downward arrow. She said that the music notes still needed to be worked with to integrate with the Town and overall picture. She said that she liked what it looked like on the website overlay example. Member McKee commented that it still looked like there were legitimate mountains in the background instead of just hilly terrain. Page 2 of 3 Member Tesoro commented that she felt like there were some elements lost. She asked where the knife and fork went. Ms. Campbell explained that the group had wanted to remove the icons to see what it would look like. Member Tesoro said that the icons were important to tell the full story of why you would want to come to Hillsborough. She said that there are ‘foodie’ elements and that would be one reason to come to town but there’s nothing about this that lets you know that we have a great food and beverage scene. She said she would like to see the icons reincorporated and discuss this point again. The members discussed shifting things around a little bit for more cohesion. Compiled comments: - Make mountains look more like hills. - Play with the idea of making the g in Hillsborough into a paintbrush or the i dot into a music note - Integrate pictures better - Change terrain to connect bridge better, bridge appears to go behind or into the house and it looks strange? Move Dickson house to other side. - Bring icons back and integrate them better V. Review and comment on work performed thus far on Visitors and Relocation Guide and Visitors Map i. Visitors and Relocation Guide Ms. Campbell said there were no updates on this project. ii. Visitors Map Ms. Campbell explained that the design firm needed more direction as to what kind of design concept the committee wanted so they sent over a handful of map ideas to see which ones the committee likes. The members determined that they liked the example given for the maps for Qatar after much discussion, but acknowledged that there would need to be more detail such as in the city map example provided. VI. Committee Discussion a. Set next meeting date Tuesday April 25th at 6pm at the Chamber of Commerce II.
