ORDINANCE NO. 68 -270
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 65 -170 OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY ELECTRICAL CODE AS CONTAINED IN THE
1968 EDITION OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BUILDING LAWS
AND PUBLISHED BY THE BUILDING NEWS, INC. AND MAKING
OTHER AMENDMENTS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 65 -170 entitled "Electrical Code'!
adopted August 17, 1965, is hereby amended by adopting by reference,
except as hereafter provided, that certain Electrical Code known and
designated as the Los Angeles County Electrical Code as published in
the 1968 edition of the Los Angeles County Building Laws published
by Building, News, Inc., and such code shall be and become the Elec-
trical Code of the City of Temple City; regulating the installation,
arrangement, alteration, repair, use and operation of electric wiring,
connections, fixtures and other electrical appliances on premises
within the City of Temple City, and providing for the issuance of
permits and the collection of fees therefor.
Three copies of said Los Angeles County Building Laws
have been deposited in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Temple City and shall be at all times maintained by said clerk for
use and examination by the public.
Said edition of the Los Angeles County Electrical Code,
except as hereafter provided, is hereby substituted for, and shall
take the place of the Electrical Code set forth in said Ordinance
No. 65 -170 and such amending ordinance previously adopted.
SECTION 2. Whenever any of the following names or terms
are used in said Los Angeles County Electrical Code, each such name
or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed
to it in this section as follows:
"Chief Electrical Inspector'" shall mean the County Engineer
of the County of Los Angeles except in Section 3 of said Electrical
Code.
"County," "County of Los Angeles" or "unincorporated area of the
County of Los Angeles" shall mean the City of Temple City.
"Maintenance Electrician" shall mean a person holding a valid
Certificate of Registration as Maintenance Electrician issued by the
County of Los Angeles as set forth in Sections 8 and 9 of said Los
Angeles County Electrical Code.
SECTION 3. Section 31 of the Electrical Code of the City
of Temple City shall read as follows:
"Section 31. Penalties. Any person, firm or corporation violat-
ing any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be punishable by a
fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment in the County Jail for
a period of not more than six months, or by both such fine and im-
prisonment. Each person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a separate
offense for each day or portion thereof during which such violation
continues and shall be punishable therefor as herein provided.

California, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No.
68 -270, was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Temple City, held on the 18th day of June ,
1968, and was duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council,
approved and signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk
at a regular meeting of the said City C ouncil held on the 16th
day of July , 1968, by the following vote:
