Gonzalez, Village Manager DATE: May 22, 2015 SUBJECT: Sidewalk Repairs Along Collins Avenue The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to advise you of the sidewalk repairs taking place at various locations along Collins Avenue from 961h Street to the Haulover Inlet Bridge. We are repairing several twilight blue granite chip sections of sidewalk that are trip hazards and in need of replacement. The work is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 with an estimated completion date of June 3, 2015 or before if possible. The work will be scheduled during non -peak traffic times from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We will begin on the sidewalk sections that are considered trip hazards first and then move on to sections that have a poor appearance. The majority of the work will take place on the sidewalk that is adjacent to the southbound lane. Areas where the sidewalk will be removed and replaced will be coned off, and detour signs will be placed if needed at the corresponding crosswalks to divert pedestrian traffic. The locations of the work that will be taking place on Collins Avenue are as follows: • 1 Harbour Way - 1 section which is a trip hazard. • 10185 by The Plaza - 4 sections which are trip hazards. • 10101 by The Palace - 1 section which is a trip hazard. • 9930 by Bal Harbour Collins Apartments - 1 section which is a trip hazard. • West Harbour Way by Collins - 4 1/2 sections which are of poor quality. • East Harbour Way by Collins - 31/2 sections which are of poor quality. By Bal Harbour Shops South of the street light - 6 sections which are of poor quality. • Along 96t" Street across from Abbott Avenue, just East of the bus stop - 1 section which is a trip hazard.
