OVER N Chief of Police Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the above totals - However, they are of sufficient interest to be noted. Date incident/Arrest Location 05/30/15 Person Stuck in Elevator 10160 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Officers responded to the Admirality Condominiums due to a person stuck in an elevator. Miami Dade Fire Rescue personnel were able to free the uninjured victim; which had remained in the elevator for approximately 15 minutes. The elevator was secured and a repair service was contacted. Date incident/Arrest Location 05/30/15 Theft Cell Phone 214 Bal Cross Drive Narrative / Comments A resident reported the approximately 15 minutes. theft of her cellphone which she had left on the porch of the residence for An area canvass did not reveal any suspects or further evidence. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10800 Block of Collins Avenue 05/30/15 Disorderly Intoxication Haulover Beach Narrative / Comments The Miami Dade Police Department requested our assistance regarding a man on the beach in need of assistance. Officers conducted a search of the beach but were unsuccessful in locating the individual. Officers made contact with the individual via cellphone; however he was still unable to provide officers with his exact location. The individual was finally located in the mangroves extremely intoxicated, to the point that he could not provide officers with a local address or next of kin. OVERT Chief of Police Date incident/Arrest Location 05/31/15 Suspicious Person 10295 Collins Avenue (Ritz Carlton) Narrative / Comments While patrolling the North Municipal Parking Lot, officers observed several males removing items from the trash containers belonging to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and placing the items in the their vehicle. Upon detaining the individuals, officers determined they did not have permission from the hotel to remove the items from the trash containers. Ritz Carlton personnel declined to pursue criminal charges and the individuals were released after being issued a trespass warning not to return to the property. Date incident/Arrest Location 06/01/15 Open Door 501 96th Street(Church By the Sea) Narrative / Comments During a routine security check of the property, an officer discovered one of the double doors to the sanctuary was ajar. As a precaution, officers secured the surrounding area and conducted a security check of the interior and exterior of the buiding. No persons were located inside the property and there were no signs of an unlawful entry or burglary. Date incident/Arrest Location 06/01/15 AOA/Surfside Police 96 Street/Harding Avenue Narrative / Comments While assigned to the 96 Street crosswalk detail, an officer witnessed a traffic crash involving two motor vehicles south bound on Harding Avenue. The officer notified the Town of Surfside Police Department of the traffic crash and immediately responded to render assistance to the parties involved. Further investigation revealed one of the drivers was operating the vehicle with a revoked Florida's drivers liscense for Driving Under the Influence. OVE Chief of Pol PARTMENT )N Date incident/Arrest Location 06/02/15 1 AOA/Bay Harbour Island Police 9300 E Bay Harbour Drive Narrative / Comments Bay Harbour Islands police requested assistance regarding a Hit and Run Crash with serious injuries in their jurisdiction. A BHPD officer responded and provided assistance with directing traffic. Due to the extent of the injuries, one of the injured parties involved in the crash was airlifted to an area hospital. Once the crash scene was cleared, the officer returned to the village and resumed normal patrol operations. Date incident/Arrest Location 06/03/15 1 AOA/Sunny Isles Beach PD 10100 Block of Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A stolen vehicle was identified by an Automated License Plate Reader in Sunny Isles Beach traveling southbound on Collins Avenue. A Sunny Isles Police Detective began to follow the vehicle and requested assistance from the Bal Harbour Police Department in conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped at the 10100 block of Collins Avenue and all individuals in the vehicle were detained. The driver was subsequently arrested by Sunny Isles Beach Police for possession of the stolen vehicle. All of the passengers were released. Completed by: Captain M.
