Suspicious Incident
Village Marina Area
Narrative / Comments
A Bal Harbour Village gated community resident reported a suspicious male wearing a long black coat who
was taking photos of homes and boats docked at the marina. The individual in question was escorted out
of the village via the main gate by a resident who had been notified by the complainant. The complainant
advised police that several residents have been reporting incidents of this nature and of persons soliciting
for money inside the village. A security check was placed on the location and an operational awareness
briefing email was sent to all police personnel. Kent security supervisors will be contacted and made
aware this issue. This incident is under review by the police department's admistration to determine if the
police communications section handled the call properly. Apparently, an error occurred that prevented a
timely response by our officers.
