SUBJECT: Independence Day / 4th of July Events in Bal Harbour Village
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to advise you of the events planned for
Independence Day, Saturday, July 4th in Bal Harbour Village.
Attached is a copy of the postcard which has been mailed to all residents and is expected to
arrive in mailboxes by the end of next week.
A patriotic fireworks display will take place beginning at 9:00 p.m. on the beach with the
fireworks going off near the jetty. In addition, the Sand Sculpture Company will be back on
Bal Harbour Beach (they were last here in November 2014) to create a patriotic-themed sand
sculpture on the beach which will be unveiled on July 4th. The Sand Sculpture Company
features artists who hold Guinness World Records and are the current North American and
Canadian Sand Sculpting champions. These professional Sand Sculptors will also be
available on July 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to
help residents and beachgoers create and build their own sand sculptures on Bal Harbour
Beach.
The Bal Harbour Police and the Parks and Open Spaces Departments will be activating their
major events plans to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our residents and visitors.
