I. Call Meeting to Order Member McKee called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. II. Agenda Adoption Motion: Member Tesoro motioned to adopt. Second: Member McKee seconded. Vote: Unanimous. III. Consideration of Minutes May 22, 2017 and June 5, 2017 Members took a moment to review both sets of minutes. Motion: Member Tesoro motioned to adopt. Second: Member McKee seconded. Vote: Unanimous. IV. Review and comment on Logo Member McKee indicated that she liked it. She appreciated that the icons were bigger. Member Carroll said that the book didn’t look enough like a book and that it needed something to be more obvious. Add a spine or text or something. She said she liked the colors used. Member McKee asked how everyone felt about the watercolor text. Member Carroll said that the ombre could be solid. Member McKee agreed and said it might be better to have the colors blue solid in the text. Page 2 of 2  Member Tesoro said that she wasn’t even totally seeing the ‘watercolor’ effect. She said that it would look better in the medium blue in the ‘lls’ section of the word. She asked if the sunbursting coming out of the bottom could be cut because it seemed odd to have the sun coming from below the skyline. Member McKee said that it would make sense to remove it. Ms. Campbell made notes on the changes desired. Member McKee said that the logo was previewed by the TDA and had generally positive feedback. She asked who was going to explain the concept and how they got to the badge and developed the concept. Ms. Campbell went through some design continuity errors that she was going to point out to the designer to resolve as well. They were minor clean-up items. V. Map Review Ms. Campbell showed the subcommittee the second draft of the map and explained that the commercial areas were going to be outlined, that the main points of interest/attractions would get some kind of symbol and a legend, and that some minor fixes would happen such as spelling out ‘Riverwalk’ and ‘Occoneechee Speedway’. Members discussed how freestanding places without a defined ‘commercial area’ but with a large tourism draw, such as Vietri and Leland Little Auctions would be handled and if they should be shown or not. They also discussed whether or not certain historic homes should be shown on the downtown map. They didn’t like the empty space on some of the streets and discussed a way to add stock houses or something to demonstrate that this is a downtown with houses, not just businesses and trees. VI. Committee Discussion Ms. Campbell said that the logo would be unveiled at the next Tourism Board meeting and that the map and visitors guide had so many comments that it would likely take at least a few weeks to come back. The subcommittee scheduled at tentative meeting for July 20th. I. Adjourn Motion: Member McKee moved to adjourn at 7:25 p.m. Second: Member Carroll seconded. Vote: Unanimous.
