RESOLUTION NO. 2006-05
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE
ESTABLISHING CERTAIN NO PARKING AREAS WITHIN THE TOWN
WHEREAS, Section 10.13.120(c) of the Town Code authorizes the establishment of no
parking areas within the Town by resolution of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that to encourage and facilitate the use of
bicycles for transportation, vehicle parking should be prohibited in bicycle lanes; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has reviewed the existing bicycle lanes and wishes to
prohibit vehicular parking in the areas depicted on the map attached, hereto as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Truckee to authorize:
1. No parking areas are hereby created as depicted on Exhibit A.
2. This resolution shall take effect upon the day that appropriate signs are placed
prohibiting parking within these areas.
3. The Town Engineer and Chief of Police are hereby authorized and directed to take
such actions as are necessary to carry out the provisions of this resolution.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Vice Mayor Anderson, seconded by
Council Member Green at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council, held on the
16th day of March 2006 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Vice Mayor Anderson, Council Members, Green, Threshie, Susman, and
Mayor Ingalls.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
