Chief of Police Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the above totals - However, they are of sufficient interest to be noted. NAR8, Ind ePp 6,9 �t 9 i A i FLA, Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/15/2015 Deceased Animal 10200 Block on the Beach Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbour resident discovered a small deceased dog floating off shore. The resident removed the dog from the water and turned it over to a Bal Harbour police officer. The officer took the animal to the Public Works & Green Spaces facility and contacted Miami Dade County Animal Control. Upon arriving the animal control officer checked the dog for a microchip but did not locate one. The deceased dog was removed by animal control. As of this time no one has come forward reporting a missing dog. Bal Harbour police officers canvassed the area for any lost dog signs and have not found any. The dog did not appear to have any obvious injuries so It is highly possible that the dog may have fallen from a boat and drowned. Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/1612015 Assist Other Agency 10800 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Florida Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Commission officers requested our narcotics canine officer to assist in a search of a vessel. The Bal Harbour police canine officer responded and conducted a search with his narcotics detection canine. OVERTO Chief of Police e1 \ti Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/17/2015 Assist Other Agency Sans Souci Blvd and NE 117 Place Narrative / Comments A subject stole a motor scooter from Bay Harbour Islands and fled towards the North Miami area. The subject abandoned the scooter and fled on foot in the area of San Souci Boulevard and NE 117 Place in North Miami. A perimeter was established as officers searched for the offender. A Bal Harbour police officer was dispatched to assist Bay Harbour Islands Police Department with the perimeter and traffic control. Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/17/2015 Lost Elderly Female 10250 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A concerned citizen came across a disoriented and lost elderly female by the 10200 Block of Collins Avenue. Bal Harbour police officers responded and took custody of the female who was in good spirits and not injured. The elderly female suffers from Dementia and Alzheimer's and had recently moved to a new apartment; which she could not recall the address or unit number. Through investigative means and with the assistance of other residents the Bal Harbour police officers located her residence and made contact with her husband. The female was safely returned home and the officers discussed measures and safeguards with the couple that may assist in avoiding a future incident. Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/17/2015 Arrest Stalking/Threats 10240 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Bal Harbour officers were dispatched to a call regarding a landlord / tenant dispute. After an extensive investigation officers learned the two subjects went to the location with the owner of the unit in order to collect the rent payment. The two subjects repeatedly harassed, intimidated and threatened the residents over the rent payment. Bal Harbour police responded twice in the span of two hours and fire rescue had to be requested twice for the elderly female resident who suffers from several ailments. Chief of Police E RTMENT .'� * 1� ARS 0� PL ,FLA Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/18/2015 Found Firearm 9700 Collins Avenue Neiman Marcus Narrative / Comments Neiman Marcus employees found a revolver on a couch located on the second floor of the store. A Bal Harbour police officer responded and conducted a check of the firearm which was not reported lost or stolen at the time. The firearm was impounded and placed in the Bal Harbour Police property locker. Later in the afternoon the owner called and was identified. The firearm was released after the owner produced ownership and state firearm license documentation. Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/21/15 Code Violation Warning 216 Bal Bay Drive Narrative / Comments While conducting an area check inside the gated community, an officer observed several tree limbs, palm fronds and debris littered across the front of the residence. At the request of the officer, the Code Enforcement Officer responded. Subsequent investigation revealed the property is currently vacant and in litigation. The Code Enforcement Officer will issue and send code violations informing the responsible party to have the landscaping brought into compliance with the Bal Harbour Village code. Date Incident/Arrest Location 07/23/2015 AOA/Surfside PD 9200 blk. Harding Avenue Narrative / Comments A request for assistance was received from the Town of Surfside Police Department due to an armed robbery. A perimeter was established with officer from all neighboring agencies along with the Miami -Dade Police Aviation Unit. Canine teams from multiple agencies were deployed and after an extensive search for the subjects, they were both apprehended within the perimeter. Completed by: Captain M.
