Chief of Police DE ARTMENT Noteworthy Incidents �- The incidents listed below are included in the listed totals. However, they are of sufficient interest to be noted. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/25/15 Traffic Arrest Collins Avenue and 10200 block Narrative / Comments While conducting routine traffic enforcement on Collins Avenue, a Bal Harbour police officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction. The subsequent investigation revealed that the driver had his license suspended and he was in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The driver was arrested and charged with Driving with a Suspended License and Possession of Cannabis Under 20 grams. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/26/15 Traffic Enforcement Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments In an effort to enhance traffic safety, the Bal Harbour Police Department's evening shift squad conducted a Traffic Enforcement Detail on Collins Avenue from 8:00 PM to12:00 AM. The squad addressed speeding, seat belt violations, move over law violations, illegal right turns, and parking violations. The squad issued 11 Citations, 4 Parking Violation and 8 Warnings during the duration of this detail. bate Incident/Arrest Location 09/26/15 1 Disturbance Loud Party 10205 Collins Avenue #302 Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department was dispatched to a loud party at the Kenilworth Condominiums. The complainant, a neighbor, wished to remain anonymous. The front desk clerk advised that they had requested the occupants to keep the noise level down several times with no compliance. As the officers exited the elevator they could hear loud talking and partying throughout the entire floor. All requests to lower the noise level were met with a negative response and some of the occupants became belligerent and argumentative. Therefore, the party was ordered to be shut down, and a Code Violation Notice was issued. OVERT N Chief of Police Date incident/Arrest Location,. 09/29/15 Suspicious Person 10245 Collins Avenue (Carlton Terrace Narrative / Comments While monitoring the surveillance cameras for the premises, a security officer at the Carlton Terrace Condominiums observed a suspicious male walking to the front and rear of the property. The security officer notified the Bal Harbour Police Department. Moments later, Bal Harbour police officers arrived and located the male walking on the access road towards the beach jetty. The officers determined the male was a guest at the Quarzo Hotel. The male confirmed he entered the Carton Terrace property searching for access to the beach. Bal Harbour officers directed the male to the public beach access entrance. No further action was necessary. Date Incident/Arrest Location 09/29/15 Disoriented Male 10200 Collins Avenue (North Municipal Lot Narrative / Comments While conducting a mandatory security check, a Bal Harbour police officer noticed an elderly male who appeared to be lost or disoriented. The officer offered assistance but the individual was unable to provide critical information due to his diminished mental state. After an extensive database query, the officer was able to locate the elderly gentleman's emergency contact information. He was successful in communicating with the individual's son and reuniting the gentlemen with his family. Completed by: Captain M.
