A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APROVING THE AWARD OF THE
CONTRACT TO FIESTA TAXI COOPERATIVE, INC. DBA: FIESTA TAXI AND 1800-
TAXICAB; AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT, IN A
FORM APPROVED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX
- HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($600,000), FOR AN INITIAL PERIOD OF THREE
YEARS, ENDING DECEMBER 17, 2021 WITH AN OPTION TO EXTEND THE
CONTRACT FOR TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has provided Dial-a-Ride transportation service
for senior citizens and mobility impaired Lynwood residents for over thirty years; and
WHEREAS, on December 16, 2014 the City Council approved Resolution
2014.215 awarding a contract agreement to Administrative Services Cooperative, DBA
Fiesta Taxi for performance of the dial-a-ride transportation services; and
WHEREAS, said contract agreement was for a period of two (2) years from
December 17, 2014 to December 16, 2016, with options for third and fourth-year
extensions; and
WHEREAS, on December 6, 2016 the City Council approved Resolution 2016.243
extending the agreement for another one-year term, expiring December 17, 2017;and
WHEREAS, on October 17, 2017 the City Council approved Resolution 2017.221
extending the agreement for the fourth and final year, expiring December 17, 2018;and
WHEREAS, the existing contract is set to expire on December 17, 2018; and
WHEREAS, in anticipation of the existing contract expiring, the Recreation
Department issued a Request for Proposals for dial-a-ride transportation services; and
WHEREAS, the current service provider was the only responding proposer to the
RFP; and
WHEREAS, Fiesta Taxi Cooperative represented that its proposed services shall
meet and exceed the requirements and specifications of the RFP; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue providing dial-a-ride transportation
services to senior citizens and mobility impaired residents; and
WHEREAS, the Dial a Taxi Service is an approved usage for Proposition "A"
Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, determine,
order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of
the City of Lynwood, the Dial-a-Ride Transit Agreement with Fiesta Taxi Cooperative,
Inc.(DBA Fiesta Taxi) for the purpose of providing Dial-a-Ride services for the City of
Lynwood, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 3. The term of the Agreement shall be from December 18, 2018
through December 17, 2021, with an option to extend the contract for two additional years.
Section 4. Funding for this service is approved from the Proposition "A"
Fund Acct. #2401.60.725.62015.
Section 5. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
