OVERTON Chief of Police Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the listed totals. However, they are of sufficient interest to be noted. Date incident/Arrest Location 10/16/15 Assist Outside Agency / Bal Harbour City Limits Missing Child Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department received information from the Miami -Dade Police Department regarding a missing child last seen near Haulover Park, walking southbound on Collins Avenue. All on duty Bal Harbour Police Officers conducted an extensive area canvass throughout the Village limits. All condominiums and hotels were notified, as well as the Bal Harbour Shops security; however, no one matching the description was located. The Miami -Dade Police was advised that the child was not located in the Village. Date incident/Arrest Location 10/18/15 Inclement Weather Conditions 10155 and 9703 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments During the late evening hours, the Village experienced adverse weather conditions consisting of heavy rain and gusty winds. As a result of the inclement weather, two Canary Island Palm Trees were damaged. Public Works personnel responded and removed the debris that was partially obstructing the sidewalk. No injuries or damages were reported. Date incident/Arrest Location 10/19/15 AOA/Surfside Police 9595 Harding Avenue (Gray & Sons Jewelers) Narrative / Comments While patrolling the 96 Street corridor, a Bal Harbour Police Officer was alerted to an audible alarm ringing from a business establishment located in the Town of Surfside. The Bal Harbour Police Officer responded to the area identifying the business, and immediately notified the Surfside Police Department of the alarm. Officers from both agencies conducted a perimeter check of the business and no sign of forced entry was detected. OVERTON Chief of Police Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/20/15 AOA/Surfside Police 9400 Harding Avenue (CVS Pharmacy) Narrative / Comments The Miami -Dade Police Department Communications Center advised of a theft that had just occurred at the CVS Pharmacy on 96 Street and Harding Avenue. Bal Harbour Police Officers responded to the area, and assisted the Surfside Police Department in apprehending the suspect. The suspect was arrested and the property returned to the pharmacy. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10/22/15 Arrest / Felony Theft 9700 Collins Avenue Bal Harbour Shops Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbor Shops security officer reported his cell phone stolen from their office. Interviews were conducted by detectives who discovered that a fellow security guard had stolen the cell phone. The security guard was arrested for the theft and the cell phone was recovered. Date incident/Arrest Location 10/22/15 Open Unsecured Door 9800 Collins Avenue Old Fairfield Narrative / Comments While conducting a routine security check at the Fairfield Condominium, a Bal Harbour Police Officer discovered an open door to the structure. There was evidence that unknown person(s) may have trespassed inside the abandoned building; however no one was located at the time. The Bal Harbor Shops security supervisor was notified of the incident in order to have the premises secured further. Additional security checks were immediately implemented by the Bal Harbour Police Department. Completed by: Captain M.
