A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ACTING AS THE SURPLUS PROPERTY COMMISSION DECLARING
OBSOLETE AND NON-FUNCTIONAL COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND
PERIPHERALS (ATTACHMENT 'A') AS SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THEIR DISPOSAL THROUGH ELECTRONIC WASTE
SOLUTIONS
WHEREAS, after years of service, certain city-owned computer equipment
and peripherals have either reached the end of their service life, become
damaged beyond repair, or have become obsolete; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-15 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the
City Council is the Surplus Property Commission, which has the authority to
authorize the disposal of surplus properties; and
WHEREAS, staff researched three certified recycling centers, and
Electronic Waste Solutions would be the best company to recycle the old
equipment due to their reputation and reimbursement rate; and
WHEREAS, the equipment has no significant residual value and the City
will be paid $.20 per pound.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves surplus
equipment to be recycled by Electronic Waste Solutions and authorizes the City
Manager to sign an agreement approved by the City Attorney.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20TH day of November, 2018.
