A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING THE MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL EMPLOYEE'S SALARY
SCHEDULE AND AUTHORIZING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF IDENTIFIED
INCUMBENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is a General Law City under California law
and is governed by and elected City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted an
Employee Classification and Position Plan and on occasion amends the plan as
needed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted a salary
resolution with salary schedules for Management and General employees; and
WHEREAS, the City had identified a need to set minimum certification
requirements for the Water/Wastewater series and said certifications are currently
paid to employees as a special compensation pay; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to adjust the salaries of the Water/Wastewater
series to include the certifications pays as part of the employees' base pay; and
WHEREAS, Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule IV, Section 4
Reclassification, provide for an employee to be allocated to a more appropriate
class when the duties of which have changed materially so as to necessitate
reclassification; and
WHEREAS, the City has met and conferred with the employee associations
representing these classifications; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Amend the Employees Classification Plan, Management and
General Salary Schedule to include new salaries for the positions as follows,
pending adoption of the revised classification specifications by the Personnel
Board:

Section 2. Retitle the following existing classification, pending adoption
of the revised classification specifications by the Personnel Board:

Section 3. Amend the Employees Classification Plan, Management and
General Salary Schedule to include new position and in accordance with Section
18-6(g) of the Lynwood Municipal Code, exempt the position from the Classified
Service:
City Manager's Office
Community Liaison
Section 4. Merge Senior Water/Wastewater Worker into the Water/Wastewater
Lead Worker classification;
Section 5. Reclassification of identified incumbent shall be

Section 6. The Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget accounted for the
inclusion of the proposed positions with appropriate funding.
Section 7. That the modifications so ordered by this resolution shall
become effective immediately upon its adoption.
