Subject: Church by the Sea - Permit to Remove and Reinstall Glazing of Windows
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you that that today the Church by the
Sea submitted a permit application to remove and re -install glazing of windows. After
appropriate review, the Building Official has issued a building permit (attached).
The permit allows for the removal and reinstall of windows and glazing which allows for the
Church by the Sea to remove the stained glass that is along the 96th Street fagade.
No demolition or other construction activities are allowed at this time.
It should be noted that the permit includes a double permit fee, as that is the penalty for doing
work without a permit. Unfortunately, the Church by the Sea began the stained glass removal
yesterday, prior to receiving a permit. The Building Official and I were present at the site and
issued a stop work order, at that time.
This is for your information as I know that this matter has been raised to your attention by
interested residents.
