A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING AN EXTENSION TO THE CONTRACT WITH MV
TRANSPORTATION, INC. TO JULY 31, 2019 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXTEND THE AGREEMENT FOR UP TO AN ADDITIONAL SIX
MONTHS; —AND APPROVING A 4.1% HOURLY RATE INCREASE
WHEREAS, MV Transportation is the current provider of the City's fixed route
transit system; and
WHEREAS, the amended Agreement with MV Transportation is set to expire on
January 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals process was conducted; and
WHEREAS, the City received five proposals; and
WHEREAS, on November 20, 2018, the City Council did not award the contract;
and
WHEREAS, there may be interruption in services if there is no new agreement
in place prior to January 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, an extension to the Agreement with MV Transportation will provide
the City Manager or his designee time to finalize the procurement or negotiation
process; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves to extend the contract with MV
Transportation, Inc. to July 31, 2019.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to extend the
Agreement with MV Transportation Inc. for up to an additional six months; and
Section 3. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to approve the contract
amendment attached hereto as Exhibit A in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
