1 Loitering and Prowling Arrest
9800 Collins Avenue (Fairfield)
While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, A Bal Harbour officer noticed a vehicle parked at the
Fairfield vacant property. The Bal Harbour officer stopped to investigate why the vehicle was
parked on the property. When the officer approached the vehicle, he noticed the vehicle was
idling and a male sitting in the vehicle. During the investigatory interview, the male's responses to
the officer were inconsistent and conflicting. The male was unable to provide the officer with a
legitimate reason for being on the property, and was subsequently arrested for Loitering and
Prowling. The officer also noticed several personal electronic items (cell phones, laptop) inside
the vehicle, possibly indicating the male was living inside the car. A criminal history check
revealed the male had an active warrant in the state of Texas in the amount of $10,000. The male
was taken into custody and transported to jail. As a precaution, Bal Harbour Police created and
