While on routine patrol in the gated community, a Bal Harbour officer discovered the temporary
fence installed around the perimeter of the construction site was unsecured and partially
obstructing the roadway. It was determined, that due to the inclement weather conditions, the
fence was damaged and the support poles uprooted. The Bal Harbour officer was able to

While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer discovered a vehicle stationary
in the roadway on Collins Avenue. The Bal Harbour officer stopped to inquire from the driver why

Traffic Congestion
Collins Avenue & 96 Street
Narrative / Comments
The Bal Harbour Village experienced traffic grid lock on Collins Avenue southbound lanes and on
96 Street, in the east and west bound directions. The main cause was a lane reduction on west
bound 96 Street in Bay Harbor Islands do to FPL repair work. In addition, the Sunny Isles Bridge
was stuck open for approximately one hour causing vehicles to proceed south on Collins towards
Bal Harbour. Bal Harbour officers were placed at key intersections and mitigated the traffic
congestion.
