OVERT Chief of Police °0;t \ FLA Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the listed totals. However, they are of sufficient interest to be noted. Date incident/Arrest Location 12/05/15 Hazardous Conditions 237 Bal Cross Drive Narrative / Comments While on routine patrol in the gated community, a Bal Harbour officer discovered the temporary fence installed around the perimeter of the construction site was unsecured and partially obstructing the roadway. It was determined, that due to the inclement weather conditions, the fence was damaged and the support poles uprooted. The Bal Harbour officer was able to reposition the poles and secured the fenced with a flexible cuff. The Code Enforcement officer was notified and will follow-up with the property owner. Date incident/Arrest Location 12/09/15 Assist Citizen 9800 Collins Avenue While patrolling the Collins Avenue corridor, a Bal Harbour officer discovered a vehicle stationary in the roadway on Collins Avenue. The Bal Harbour officer stopped to inquire from the driver why the vehicle was motionless. It was later determined the vehicle was having mechanical issues and was disabled. The Bal Harbour officer safely pushed the vehicle out of the roadway and requested a wrecker. The disabled vehicle was subsequently towed and the traffic was able to resume without any delays. Date incident/Arrest Location 12/10/15 Traffic Congestion Collins Avenue & 96 Street Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Village experienced traffic grid lock on Collins Avenue southbound lanes and on 96 Street, in the east and west bound directions. The main cause was a lane reduction on west bound 96 Street in Bay Harbor Islands do to FPL repair work. In addition, the Sunny Isles Bridge was stuck open for approximately one hour causing vehicles to proceed south on Collins towards Bal Harbour. Bal Harbour officers were placed at key intersections and mitigated the traffic congestion. Completed by: Captain M.
