Initiative
Narrative / Comments
In order to ensure public safety during this holiday season, the Bal Harbour Police Department
has initiated an enhanced patrol initiative to ensure the safe and orderly flow of pedestrian and
vehicular traffic as well as targeted patrols to ensure the safety of all visitors and residents. One
component of the initiative was a proactive suppression detail focusing on vehicle burglaries.
Members of the department placed a vehicle with visible shopping totes in the parking lot. BHPD,
with the assistance of personnel from the Golden Beach Police Department then established
surveillance on the vehicle. The detail was terminated after several hours with no one
burglarizing neither the vehicle nor any other vehicle in the parking garage. The detail shall
continue through December 30th 2015.
