Possible Water Leak

Bal Harbour 101
Narrative / Comments
A concerned citizen called police regarding water covering the sidewalk in front of the Bal Harbour
101 building. Further investigation revealed that the property's storm drain was overflowing due
to Full Moon King Tides. Maintenance personnel were using a portable pump to redirect the
water onto their own landscape causing it to run off toward the sidewalk. The water also filled the
sewer basin thus emitting a sewer stench. Management immediately disconnected the pump and
advised they would clean up the side walk. Public Works Supervisor Ron Nelson responded to
the scene and coordinated the completion the incidents mitigation to the satisfaction of the
Village's interests. On 12/24/15 Bal Harbour Public Works Supervisor Nelson confirmed the area
was cleaned up by the 101 maintenance workers.

Traffic Detail
Collins Avenue Corridor
Narrative / Comments
In response to the increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic, Bal Harbour police officers were
strategically assigned traffic posts throughout the Collins Avenue corridor to assist with the orderly
flow of traffic traversing north and south on Collins Avenue. Additionally, a Bal Harbour police
officer was assigned to the pedestrian crosswalk at 9700 Collins Avenue to ensure the safe
passage of pedestrians entering and exiting the Bal Harbour Shops. The increase in vehicular
and pedestrian traffic is suspected to be directly related to the number of local sporting,
entertainment, and New Year's Day events and celebrations in the Miami -Dade County area.
