Weekly Code Enforcement Efforts
COMMENTS:
Code Enforcement Officers (CEOs) visited all the hotels and condominium buildings to distribute
copies of the Village Ordinance regarding single use plastic and reminded all parties that the
ordinance will be enforced. CEOs met personally with hotel/condo staff to ensure proper notice was
given.
Code Enforcement Officers responded to a complaint of a noisy elevator at the Majestic Towers. CEOs
met with the complainant and conducted sound readings. The readings were below the threshold for
a noise violation.
Criminal Investigations
COMMENTS:
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) investigated a potential theft of over $100,000 in watches
from a retailer in the Bal Harbour Shops. The investigation revealed the salesperson violated store
policy during the sales transaction. Detectives and store personnel contacted the salesperson and the
watches were returned.
