CEOs noted debris on the roadway and erosion on the shoreline. Public Works personnel were notified for and coordinated the clean- up efforts. Criminal Investigations COMMENTS: The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is reviewing all open cases for 2019 to finalize the disposition on pending investigations. Noteworthy Incidents / Arrests Date Incident Type Location 12-20-2019 Retail Theft 9700 Collins Ave COMMENTS: A male subject attempted to take a jacket from a retailer at the Bal Harbour Shops. Loss Prevention officers at the store noticed the theft and detained the subject. Bal Harbour officers responded to the scene and arrested the subject for retail theft. Date Incident Type Location 12-22-2019 Weather Event Village Wide COMMENTS: A severe weather event caused heavy rains, flooding, power outages, and debris in the roadway during the early morning hours. The Village pumps were reset and the standing water drained. FPL responded and promptly restored power. Public works was notified and arranged for vacuum trucks and street sweepers to respond and remove any debris. No injuries or damages were reported. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Raleigh Flowers, Jr. Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report t_eP NAPBOUq"�';� Date Incident Type Location 12/23/2019 Traffic Arrest 9600 blk Harding Avenue COMMENTS: While conducting traffic enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic infraction. A routine history check revealed the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was arrested and transported to jail. Date Incident Type Location 12/24/2019 Noise Complaint North lot COMMENTS: Bal Harbour officers received a complaint of a loud generator in the North Municipal Lot. Officers discovered an AT&T Generator was attached to the Utility Hub underneath the bridge. AT&T front office advised the generator was necessary due to weather related power issues affecting service (phone, internet & cable) to 250 customers. The repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, December 27, 2019. No other complaints were received. Date Incident Type Location 12/26/19 Traffic Detail Collins Avenue Corridor COMMENTS: In anticipation of the increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic, Bal Harbour Police enhanced police presence at targeted intersections to mitigate traffic congestion and assist at pedestrian crosswalks.
