CEOs also assisted with traffic control while the Village red-light camera vendor upgraded its systems along Collins Avenue. Code Enforcement Officers continued their patrols of the gated community and beachside properties to ensure compliance with Village codes. Criminal Investigations COMMENTS: The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) successfully investigated a theft of over $400Kworth of jewelry and personal property. The victim met a female escort at a club in Miami Beach and brought her back to his Bal Harbour residence. The victim awoke to find the escort gone along with his jewelry, cash, and items from his wallet. Detective Gonzalez teamed with Miami Beach and Aventura detectives and identified the subject involved in the case. Subsequent investigation led detectives to the subject's home and effected an arrest. At the time of arrest, the subject was wearing some of the jewelry taken from the victim. Officers arrived along with Miami -Dade Fire Rescue, the female was not breathing and had no pulse. Miami -Dade Rescue officials pronounced the passing and officers on scene began their investigations. The decedent had a care nurse due to her advanced age, there were no signs of trauma or indications of criminal element. The decedent's physician and Miami -Dade homicide released the body to the funeral home. Date x T;" 4} ` Incident Type ; p 4y ' Fy;� �r l>'r �r ;�i r Location 01/03/2020 Assist another Agency/Miami-Dade 10800 blk Collins Avenue COMMENTS: While conducting traffic enforcement on the Collins Avenue corridor, Bal Harbour officers were approached by a driver who was involved in a hit and run accident. The driver told officers a vehicle struck his and fled the scene. The collision occurred near Haulover Park; Miami -Dade Police responded to conduct the traffic investigation. Bal Harbour officers were able to ascertain the suspect vehicle information through the License Plate reader system. Miami -Dade police will conduct a follow-up investigation. 3 BAL HARBOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT Raleigh Flowers, Jr. Chief of Police Weekly Summary Report zDate 'in� -. v - Incident T e : Location 01/04/2020 Intoxicated Person 10225 Collins Avenue, Bellini COMMENTS: Officers were dispatched to the grassy area in front of the building regarding a fight. Officers observed two females on the grass, one female was pinning the other to the ground. The parties were identified as mother and daughter. The daughter was extremely intoxicated and recently arrived via Uber. The mother was restraining her daughter because she was belligerent and running into traffic along Collins Avenue. Miami -Dade Fire rescue responded to the scene; however, treatment was refused. L.,_ sz. .., n s s-. 5.5 y. , s., > ,sa ... 2. ....«, 01/05/2020 Traffic Incident 10200 blk Collins Avenue COMMENTS: While conducting traffic enforcement along the Collins Avenue corridor, Bal Harbour officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic infraction. During the course of the traffic investigation, officers discovered the driver did not possess a valid license and the vehicle had a "seize tag" order issued by the state. The driver was cited and vehicle tag was impounded. Once the vehicle was towed, officers left the scene without further incident. Date € Inciden cation 01/09/2020 Trespass 10295 Collins Avenue, Ritz -Carlton COMMENTS: Officers were summoned to the pool area regarding a suspicious female loitering in the area. Officers contacted the female and confirmed she was not a guest of the hotel. The female said she was just in the area using the amenities. Security personnel, in the presence of officers, issued the female a trespass warning. Officers escorted the female off the premises without further incident. A white or black marker was used to tag a Jetty barricade, two light posts and one street sign. Public Works responded and removed the graffiti. The traffic investigations resulted in numerous citations for moving violations, expired or suspended driver's license and seizures of two Florida tags.
