ORGANIZATIONAL REVIEW
Chantel provided a summary report about the Georgia Cities Heart & Soul Mobile Workshop that she and
City Council persons Doyle and Parks attended. The mobile workshop included visits to, presentations
from officials with, and tours of Duluth, GA Greenville, SC, and Gainesville, GA. The summary included
that each city: 1) has identified what is unique about their community; 2) works with stakeholders to
ensure the city’s goals are and vision is followed in planning and implementation, while revamping it only
as necessary; 3) coordinates with appropriate staff and community leaders to ensure projects happen
efficiently; and 4) utilizes all of the resources available to them – such as grants and loans / purchasing
powers through their development authorities as appropriate.
Diane and Ted confirmed they will be attending the Downtown Development Authority training that is
taking place on June 28 during the GMA Annual Conference in Savannah.
