A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AT 509 SOUTH
10TH STREET
WHEREAS the zoning map designates 509 South 10th Street, Richmond, Indiana,
as R-3 One to Eight Family Residence District, and
WHEREAS it is desirable to change the zoning designation to C-1 Limited Commercial
District to accommodate conversion to a parking area for employees of A-1
Lock and Safe Shop located at 1001 South E Street,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that the zoning designation of the real estate described as lot number 13 in Rosa Addition to the
City of Richmond, commonly known as 509 South 10th Street, be and is hereby changed to C-1
Limited Commercial District
Passed and adopted this day of March, 1994, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.

RE: Ordinance No. 7-1994
Dear Mr. Parker:
Please advise the members of Common Council that the Richmond Planning
Commission conducted a public hearing, 2.-23-94 on the request of Rollie North on
property he owns at 509 South 10th Street. The request is to rezone this lot from R-3
multi -family residential to C-1 neighborhood business.
No objections were presented to the request. The Planning Staff recommended
approval.
The Planning Commission voted 8-0 to recommend approval of this request.

The above referenced ordinance is a re -zoning of property owned by Rollie and Peggy North, owners of
A-1 Lock and Safe Shop which they wish to convert into a parking area for employees of their business
which adjoins on the north.
The current zoning is R-3 One to Eight Family Residence District. It is necessary to change the zoning to
R-2 Limited Commercial District to ac�:oinmodate the proposed use.
The ordinance should be referred to Plan Commission for public hearing at its meeting on February 22,
1994.
The ordinance should be back to Council for second reading on March 7,1994.
