The purpose of this Letter to Council is to inform you of the 2020 Elections related to Bal
Harbour Village.
Early Voting for the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary Election began March 2, 2020
and will continue through March 15, 2020. I have attached a schedule with dates, times
and voting locations. Residents can still request Vote by Mail ballots until 5:00 PM this
Saturday, March 7, 2020. Vote by Mail Ballot Request forms are available online at:
https://www.miamidade.gov/Elections or residents may call 305-499-8444 or email
votebymail@miamidade.gov.
Residents will also be able to vote on Tuesday, Election Day (March 17, 2020) from 7:00
AM until 7:00 PM at our Parks and Recreation Center across the street from Village Hall,
18 Bal Bay Drive. The Center will also be available for electors to vote on the County's
August Primary Election and for the November 3, General Election.
The Village's General Municipal Election will be scheduled for Tuesday, November 3,
2020, to elect Councilmembers for Districts 2 and 4. As of March 6, 2020, Jeffrey Freimark
has filed to run for the District 2 seat, and David Albaum and Jamie Sanz have filed to run
for the District 4 seat. Candidate qualifying will run from Monday, August 10 until Friday
August 14, 2020. Residents can learn more about this election on our website at
https://www.balharbourtl.gov/government/village-clerk/elections
The Village Council also passed Resolution 2020-1279, providing for submission to
electors a proposed charter amendment concerning single-family dwelling building
height, and schedule this special election to be held concurrently with our Tuesday,
November 3, 2020 General Municipal Election. I will continue to keep you informed of
the status of these upcoming elections.
