Subject: Bal Harbour Village Utility Infrastructure Improvements Project Ground
Breaking with Pipe Bursting Demonstration
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to invite you attend a Ground Breaking
Ceremony and Pipe Bursting Demonstration, this Thursday morning May 14, 2020 at
9:00 am to 9:45 am, in front of 232 Park Drive. As you are aware, the Utility
Infrastructure Improvements Project Phase 4 and 3 A are now in the early phases of
construction and a component of this work involves the use of the Pipe Busting method to
replace sections of the existing water system. Specifically, the location along Park Drive
work will be using this process to replace water main transmission lines.
To commemorate the first use of Pipe Bursting in Miami Dade County, a demonstration will
be conducted as the first water pipe replacement begins this Thursday. Additionally, the
Directors of Miami Dade County Water and Sewer and Health Departments will also be in
attendance to witness the demonstration.
Please join us to mark this important milestone towards completing the long-awaited Utility
Master Plan envisioned, Village infrastructure improvements.
