SUBJECT: ON STREET DISABLED PARKING REQUEST
12135 Cornish Avenue
BACKGROUND:
Staff received a request for an on-street disabled parking space from a resident living at
12135 Cornish Avenue. Staff reviewed the application on April 18, 2019.
ANALYSIS:
Staff observed that the applicant had a driveway approach on the property. The applicant
has access to an on-site parking facility that can be accessed through the front of the
property.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Traffic, Parking and Public Safety Commission review this
application and concur with staff's denial of the on-street disabled parking request in front
of 12135 Cornish Avenue.

SUBJECT: Residential Permit Parking Districts (RPPDs)
3600 Block of Cedar Avenue
12500 Block of Waldorf Drive
11100 Block of Carson Drive
4500 Block of Carlin Avenue
Recommendation:
Staff respectfully requests the recommendation of the Commission to continue to the
next phase of implementation for the proposed RPPD of the 3600 Block of Cedar,
bounded by Bullis Rd. and School St., the 12500 block of Waldorf Drive, bounded by
Olanda St. and McMillan St., the 11100 block of Carson Drive, bounded by MLK Jr.
Blvd. and Le Sage St., and the 4500 block of Carlin Avenue, bounded by Atlantic Ave.
and Millrace Ave.
Background:
Staff has received petitions from the respective blocks for the establishment of a RPPD
to combat the issues of non-resident vehicles occupying the parking surplus and to
decrease the number of excessive vehicles emanating from households within the
proposed areas.
Discussion & Analysis:
Staff will enact the next phase of implementation which consist of an inoperable vehicle
inspection, a garage inspection, and a vehicle to household survey to ensure that no
violations are present within the proposed districts.
Staff will report its findings to the Traffic, Parking, and Safety Commission once said
survey and inspections have been conducted.
