MILLIGAN City Attorney This ordinance appropriates cash on hand in the Aviation Fund for the purchase of Iease hold improvements made by Dana Corporation at the Municipal Airport. Dana and the Airport Commission entered into a lease August 11, 1988, for a one-half acre parcel for 20 years with a 10 year option to renew through August 11, 2018. Dana used its own funds to construct a 4800 square foot hangar and installed the necessary equipment and fixtures to support its corporate aircraft operations. It no longer has aplane in Richmond and desires to sell the hangar. This ordinance will fund a purchase agreement that has been negotiated by the Airport Commission with Dana. As you will recall from page 143 of the 1994 City Budget Book, line 14 shows that no property taxes are used to operate the airport. The entire budget is raised from hangar rents, the farm lease, the sale of aviation fuel and miscellaneous revenues as set forth on page 144. Mr. Jarvis will be available to answer any questions you may have. Due to the fact that this is an Additional Appropriation, a public hearing has been advertised as required by state statute and the ordinance must be submitted to the State Board of Tax Commissioners for final approval. This ordinance can be adopted in a single meeting on two motions to suspend rules since the advertised public hearing will take place on first reading. Sincerely yours, 77"d Thomas S.
