ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, ILLINOIS
1. Time and Place of Opening Bids. Sealed proposals for the 2015 Landscape Maintenance
Contract‐IL Route 59, Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois, will be received at the Village
Clerk’s Office at 24401 W. Lockport Street, Plainfield, IL 60544 until 10:00 A.M. on April 13th,
2015. All bids will be publicly opened and the lump sum proposal for each bid read aloud at
10:00 A.M. on April 13th.
2. Description of Work. An approximate statement of work to be completed as follows:
Perform landscape maintenance and other miscellaneous items of work within IL
Route 59 Right‐of‐Way (including medians and viaduct berm) within the Village Limits of
Plainfield, Illinois.
3. Information for Bidders. Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained/examined,
at no cost, from the Village of Plainfield Village Hall at 24401 West Lockport Street, Plainfield, IL
60544.
To be considered for the bid a Contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years
previous municipal experience.
Patrick Miller, Village of Plainfield Streets Department Superintendent, (815) 436‐
3577 will be the contact person for the Village of Plainfield.
Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or
determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics
performing work under this contract.
The Village of Plainfield is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers
Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois
Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes.
Proposals must be submitted on regular forms furnished and contained in the contract
documents and shall be accompanied with a certified check, bank draft, in the amount of five
percent (5%) of the bid.
4. Rejection of Proposals. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all
Proposals and to waive technicalities. Unless the Proposals are rejected for good cause, award
of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder.
