Loitering & Prowling Arrest
Bal Harbour Shops Parking Garage
Narrative / Comments
During a routine area check of the Bal Harbour Shops parking garage, Bal Harbour Public Safety
Aide (PSA) observed two suspicious males on the pink level of the parking garage. The PSA
observed one of the males looking into parked cars. The males separated with one walking
towards the shops, and the other male entered a vehicle and drove to a different area of the
parking garage, continuing his suspicious activity. The PSA notified Bal Harbour police officers
who immediately responded and located the male attempting to exit the shops driving the
suspicious vehicle. Subsequently, the vehicle was stopped and the investigation revealed the
male driver was in possession of burglary tools (cylinder key punch device and other tools
commonly used to make forced entry into cars). Additionally, the male driver had previously been
identified by the Bal Harbour Police Department as a person of interest due to his history of
committing burglaries to vehicles. The subject was arrested and charged with prowling and
possession of burglary tools. Computer checks reveal the subject was on federal probation.
Note; a comprehensive search of the Bal Harbour Shops for the person seen with this arrested
subject was conducted with negative results.
