Re: Petition for voluntary annexation
by Richmond Industrial Center, Inc.
Dear Members of Council:
Richmond Industrial Center, Inc. requests voluntary annexation
of approximately 120 acres of ground. The land is contiguous
to the present corporate boundaries on three sides and lies to
the west of the Industrial Parkway.
I have enclosed a map showing the location of the land for
which annexation is requested.
Under the Indiana Code, a petition for voluntary annexation
must meet two requirements:
1. The petition must be signed by 510 of all owners, or
owners of 75% of total assessed value. The enclosed
petition is signed by the owner of 1000 of land and
assessed value.
2. The land must be contiguous to the municipality. The
enclosed petition is for the annexation of land which
is contiguous to the municipality on three sides
(with two small exceptions), as shown on the map.

The Richmond Industrial Center, Inc. requests annexation in
order to make the ground more marketable for industrial
development. Because the annexation ordinance cannot take
effect until at least 60 days after its publication, time is of
critical importance to the petitioner. On behalf of the
petitioner, I respectfully request that Council consider
advancing th6 annexation ordinance __ to third reading mmat theTTT
earliest possible date.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yours very truly,
