AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE
PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL REGARDING ARTICLE 6, INTRODUCTORY AND
TRAINING PERIODS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Article 6 (Introductory and Training Periods) of the Jefferson City
Personnel Policy Manual is hereby amended as follows:
ARTICLE 6. INTRODUCTORY AND TRAINING PERIODS
Section 6-2. Duration.
All original appointments and re-employments to full time and part-time positions shall be
tentative and subject to an introductory period. For entry level personnel in the police department
and entry-level fire suppression personnel in the fire department, the introductory period shall be
one year from the date of appointment. However, for anv police department personnel
attending a law enforcement training academv after appointment, the introductory period
shall be extended by one year from the date the employee is commissioned as a police
officer. All other appointments shall be subject to an introductory period of six months.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
