AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
RICHMOND TO RECEIVE A GRANT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON
IMPAIRED AND DANGEROUS DRIVING
WHEREAS the City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting
donations for a specific purpose, and
WHEREAS the acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the
appropriation of such property for the intended purpose,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that the grant of $9,250.00 for the use of the Police Department for an overtime impaired driving
enforcement program is hereby gratefully accepted from the Governor's Council on Impaired and
Dangerous Driving.
Passed and adopted this 4th day of January 1993, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION FOR 4-1993

I am pleased to inform you that the Governor's Council on Impaired and Dangerous
Driving has approved an overtime impaired driving enforcement grant for your department
in the amount of $9250. The grant is intended to enhance your impaired driving patrols
between the dates of December 1, 1992 and September 30, 1993.
The requirements for your grant award are as follows:
1) You will be required to re -submit the Budget Detatil and Budget Summary
pages of your application, if the amount approved is less than the amount you
requested. Please remember that a minimum of 70% of this award must be directed
to enforcement activities while a maximum of 20% maybe used for equipment
purchases and 10% may be used for public information/education efforts.
2) In order to receive reimbursement, claim vouchers may be submitted on a
monthly basis and must be accompanied by either, payroll information, including
hours worked and rate of pay for each individual officer or, equipment purchase
receipts. Also, you will be required to submit monthly reports on grant activities.
Reimbursement payments will be withheld if reports are not submitted monthly.
Enclosed you will find all necessary report and voucher forms .
3) All final claims for reimbursement must be received by the Office of Traffic
Safety by November 1, 1993. A final summary of the project activities, including
total expenditures, will be required in order to receive final reimbursement.
4) Conditions and expenditures relative to this grant are subject to an audit at any
time upon submission of a claim.
