Power Outage

Narrative / Comments
At approximately 3:35 A.M., while patrolling the gated community, a Bal Harbour police officer
observed that a power outage had just occurred along Bal Bay Drive and north of Park Drive.
Florida Power and Light was immediately notified and responded within a few minutes. Power
was restored to the area by 4:45 AM.

Narrative / Comments
A Bal Harbour police officer initiated a traffic stop on a motorist who committed a traffic violation.
A routine background check of the passenger revealed he had absconded from Dooly County
Georgia due to an active felony warrant for his arrest. The passenger was immediately taken into
custody and subsequently transported to jail. The motorist was issued a traffic citation and
released.

Marijuana Arrest
Harbour Way/ Bal Cross Drive
Narrative / Comments
A Bal Harbour police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction
on Harbour Way. Upon approaching the driver, the police officer detected a strong odor of
marijuana emanating from the vehicle. When questioned as to the odor, the driver admitted he
had recently smoked marijuana and surrendered the remaining amount to the police officer. The
driver was arrested.

Criminal Mischief
Collins Avenue
between 10100 and 10200
Narrative / Comments
While conducting an area check of Collins Avenue a Bal Harbour police officer discovered a total
of 20 landscaping lights damaged by what appeared to be an act of criminal mischief. The lights
were all located on the eastside of Collins Avenue from 10100 block to 10200 block. All lights are
village property and were reported to public works for repairs which commenced immediately.
The Bal Harbour police detective shall continue the investigation in an attempt to locate the
culprit.

Narrative / Comments
A Bal Harbour police officer observed a male sleeping in the bushes on the northwest side of the
Majestic Condominiums. The individual claimed to be an unemployed poet, and stated that he
was not homeless. A check for a criminal past was conducted which revealed the individual did
have a criminal history. The male was advised to leave the premises and he continued walking
south on Collins Avenue exiting Bal Harbour Village's jurisdiction.
