However they are sufficient interest to be noted. Date Incident/Arrest Location 300 Block of 96 Street 02/19/16 Suspicious Person Bus Bay Narrative / Comments An anonymous caller advised police of a possible homeless person at the bus bay. A Bal Harbour police officer made contact with the individual and also conducted a check which revealed no warrants. The person declined transportation to a shelter or any additional assistance and left the area. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/19/16 Traffic Arrest 500 Block of 96 Street Narrative / Comments While on a traffic detail along the 96 Street corridor, a Bal Harbour police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The investigation revealed the driver had a suspended driver's license therefore the driver was cited for the violation and arrested for the suspensions. The driver had no open warrants and he was allowed to sign a promise to appear at a later date in court. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10295 Collins Avenue 02/19/16 Hoax Bomb Threat Ritz -Carlton Hotel & Residences Narrative / Comments The hotel received a bomb threat from an unknown caller stating that an explosive device had been placed in a specific hotel room. The hotel did not have a room associated with the mentioned number; however the residence side of the property did. As a precaution, the units surrounding the residence were evacuated by hotel staff. The owners of the residence were not present and efforts to contact them were unsuccessful. OVERT Chief of PoIic Date IncidentlArrest Location 02/19/16 Possession of Marijuana 9703 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Staff from the St. Regis Hotel notified the Bal Harbour Police Department regarding a suspicious package mailed to a hotel guest. The package had an odor of marijuana emitting from it. Subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of the guest after taking custody of the package. The guest provided a full disclosure admitting knowledge of the contraband. The subject did not have any open warrants at this time. The amount of the Marijuana constituted a misdemeanor quantity and the subject was allowed to sign a promise to appear and released on the scene. The contraband was impounded and placed in the Bal Harbour Police Department evidence locker. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/20/16 Assist Other Agency 9800 Block of Collins Avenue Road Rage Incident Narrative / Comments The Town of Surfside Police Department along with Bal Harbour police officers conducted a traffic stop on a subject vehicle involved in a road rage incident outside of our jurisdiction. The subject vehicle was being followed by the victim who was also on the scene. Surfside police officers assumed the lead in the matter and subsequently arrested the subject driver for a suspended driver's license. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/20/16 Dogs on the Beach 10200 Block Beach Side Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbour police officer located an individual walking two dogs on the beach; one of which was not on a leash. They were instructed on the ordinance and were issued a written code violation warning. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/21/16 Suspicious Vehicle 200 Bal Bay Drive Narrative / Comments A village resident contacted the Bal Harbour Police Department reference a suspicious vehicle parked at the marina. Officers located a White pick-up truck driven by a non-resident. The driver was accompanied by a female who is a village resident. A records check was conducted which revealed that there were no open warrants for either party. OVERT Chief of Police OPv,K oliq jl �pmLz�C;E�' r Fr LA' Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/22/16 Fire Incident 10295 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department was notified of a small fire in the shrubbery near the Ritz - Carlton loading dock. Upon the arrival of the officer he was directed to a small ash pile near the shrubbery, which the officer extinguished fully. The small fire appeared to have been ignited due to an improperly discarded cigarette. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/24/16 Possession of Marijuana Arrest 10200 Block of Collins Avenue North Municipal Parking Lot Narrative / Comments While conducting traffic and parking enforcement at the North Lot, a Bal Harbour officer detected a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from a vehicle. Upon further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of a small amount of suspected Cannabis in a clear zip lock baggie. A criminal history did not produce any open warrants for the suspect. The subject was placed under arrest and subsequently released on the scene after signing a promise to appear in court. The contraband was impounded and placed in the Bal Harbour Police evidence locker. Completed by: Captain M.
