Lundy, President Richmond Common Council Richmond, IN 47374 RE: Ordinance No. 22-1993 Dear Ms. Lundy: Please advise the members of Common Council that the Richmond Advisory Plan Commission conducted a public. hearing, Tuesday, March 23, 1993, on the petition of Avery Swiderek; for amending the text of the Zoning Ordinance ' by adding Mini -warehouses to the list of principal permitted uses in the C-2 Commercial District. The planning staff recommended approval based on findings as follows: Mini -warehouse storage facilities are not . delineated in the Zoning Ordinance, and in fact, this particular type of activity has developed as a business since the Zoning Ordinance was written; The nature and impact of this type of business is more compatible with and similar to retail activities of the C-2 Classification than the more intense Warehouse Storage and Trucking Terminal use listed in the C-4 District, thus it is desireable to add them as an additional use in the C-2 District, The petitioner has sponsored this amendment at the request of the Planning . staff, and it will have the effect of correcting a deficiency in the Zoning Ordinance while benefiting his personal business situation. The Commission voted 8 in favor, 1 opposed to recommend the passage of Ordinance No. 22-1993.
