Gonzalez, Village Manager Date: February 26, 2016 Subject: 5 Star Rating for St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort The purpose of this LTC is to share with you that Forbes Travel Guide just released its most recent list of some of the world's top hotels. Only properties that meet Forbes hospitality standards — the most stringent in the industry — achieve a Five Star, Four Star or Recommended rating. Forbes professional inspectors check into and check out every property they rate regularly, evaluating more than 500 criteria to determine a Star Rating that takes the guess work out of travel planning and establishes a global benchmark for luxury travel. Since 2014, the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort has held this distinction. Only three other hotels in Miami -Dade County were awarded this honor this year — the Acqualina Resort & Spa in Sunny Isles Beach; the Mandarin Oriental in Miami; and the Setai in Miami Beach. Attached is a brief article which appeared in the Miami Herald this past week regarding the announcement from Forbes Travel Guide.
