A SPECIAL ORDINANCE CONGRATULATING THE 1993 BOYS GOLF STATE
CHAMPIONS
WHEREAS Richmond High School's young women and young men have been a source of
great pride and enjoyment because of their many and varied accomplishments in
academic, artistic and athletic pursuits, and
WHEREAS there is nothing quite as spectacular as being "number one" in any activity, and
WHEREAS the Richmond Red Devil Boys Golf Team has won the 1993 State Championship,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that:
1. June 22, 1993 be officially celebrated as Bo Van Pelt Day;
2. June 23, 1993 be officially celebrated as Ron Melling Day;
3. June 24,1993 be officially celebrated as Chad Witherby Day;
4. June 25, 1993 be officially celebrated as Greg "Hole -In -One" Givens Day;
5. June 26, 1993 be officially celebrated as J.J. Cornett Day;
6. June 27, 1993 be officially celebrated as Ryan Cate Day;
7. June 28, 1993 be officially celebrated as Coach Joe Moehring Day;
8. June 29,1993 be officially celebrated as Coach Paul Bechtold Day;
9. The citizens of Richmond take special delight in the second State Boys Golf Championship, the
first being in 1941, and
10.The year 1993 be remembered as the State Championship Year in Boys Golf on signs
throughout the City.
