Ic a OA Hp &OR ' t vpOL�GE.* FLA Date Incident/Arrest Location 03/31/16 Trespassing Incident 9700 Collins Avenue Bal Harbour Shops Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbour police officer observed a male who was accosting restaurant patrons at Carpaccio's. The male then entered the Bal Harbour Shops after hours. After being detained, the officers learned that the male was not carrying any identification. The male was cleared of any active warrants but the check did reveal that he had an extensive criminal history. Shops security issued the male a trespass warning and he was ordered to leave the premises. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/01/16 Sick or Injured Person 9909 Collins Avenue, roadside Narrative / Comments A concerned citizen called police and advised of a male who was possibly sick or injured. Bal Harbour police officers located the male as he walked south on Collins Avenue. The male told the officers that he had a minor injury to his leg which he sustained playing beach volleyball. Miami -Dade Fire Rescue responded; however the male refused treatment. A criminal history check revealed that the male did not have any open warrants. The male continued on to Miami Beach. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/02/16 Disturbance 9900 Block of Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A Miami Dade County Transit Bus Driver flagged down a Bal Harbour police officer and informed him that he had an unruly passenger on the bus. OVERT Chief of Police 0% �6 1 IC tebOLn(G F'.ry FLA Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/02/16 Theft of a Bicycle 96 Street Beach Entrance Narrative / Comments A citizen reported that he placed his bicycle in the public bike rack at the beach entrance and 96 Street. The reporter returned approximate one hour later and discovered that his bicycle was missing. The description was broadcasted over the police radio and issued to the neighboring agencies. An area canvass was conducted however the bicycle was not located. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/02/16 Assist Bay Harbour Islands 10200 Block Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Bay Harbor Island Police issued an alert regarding a male threatening to commit suicide by jumping off the Haulover Bridge. Based on the description provided, a Bal Harbour police officer located the male as he walked north on Collins Avenue towards the bridge. Bay Harbor Island police responded and took custody of the despondent male, transporting him to an area hospital for evaluation. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/03/16 Damaged City Property 9600 Harding Avenue Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbour resident discovered a damaged date palm light near the intersection of 9600 Harding Avenue. A Bal Harbour police officer responded and documented the incident. Photographs were taken of the damaged light and Public Works personnel were notified. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/03/16 Possession of Marijuana Arrest 10200 Collins Avenue (North Lot) Narrative / Comments During a check of the North Municipal Lot, a Bal Harbour police officer discovered a suspicious vehicle parked in one of the spaces occupied by a female. The officer conducted an inquiry of the vehicle's tag which revealed the tag was registered as a dealer tag. When the officer approached the vehicle to speak with the occupant, he detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle eventually admitted to recently smoking marijuana and subsequently surrendered the remaining amount of marijuana. OVERTON Chief of Police Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/05/16 Fugitive Arrest 9920 Collins Avenue # 3 Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department was contacted by a detective from the Howard County Sheriffs' Department regarding a male with numerous active arrest warrants from Howard County Maryland. The detective provided officers with a description of the male and the outstanding warrant information. The Bal Harbour officers confirmed the active warrants and the extradition order from Howard County. The Bal Harbour officers devised a strategic and tactical plan and were able to locate and take the male into custody without any incident. The male was arrested and transported to jail where he will await extradition to Howard County Maryland. Bal Harbour police officers contacted the Howard County detective and informed him the male was successfully taken into police custody and was being detained at Miami -Dade County Jail. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/07/16 Traffic Congestion 9600 Block Narrative / Comments The Broad Causeway Bridge malfunctioned during the afternoon rush our time. Several Bal Harbour units were strategically placed at key intersections along 96 Street in order to divert traffic. The bridge was repaired within 30 minutes and traffic flow returned to normal.
