However they are sufficient interest to be noted. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/22/16 Arrest / Narcotics Violation 10200 Block Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments While conducting traffic enforcement along Frontage Road, a Bal Harbour police officer effected a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed running a stop sign. The investigation revealed that both the driver and passenger were in possession of marijuana. After being cleared of any outstanding warrants, both violators were released on a promise to appear in court. The marijuana was field tested and resulted positive for the presence of Cannabis. The contraband was impounded and placed in the Bal Harbour police evidence property locker. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/23/16 Code Violation 10245 Collins Avenue Harbour House Narrative / Comments A complaint was received regarding a barking dog coming from an apartment in the Harbour House. Upon the arrival of the officers, they also heard the barking dog. OVER b,N cpOLIGE�,' Chief of Police FLA Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/23/16 Fishing Without a License 10200 Block Collins Jetty Beach Side Narrative / Comments While conducting a check of the Jetty, a Bal Harbour police officer encountered an individual who was fishing without a license. The male was cited and released after a background check was conducted. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/23/16 Assist Other Agency Collins Avenue and 163 Street Narrative / Comments The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department requested assistance in establishing a perimeter due to a suspect of a stabbing at large. BHPD officers responded and assisted until the suspect was apprehended. The officer then returned to the village. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/23/16 Disturbance/Code Violation 10185 Collins Avenue / Beach Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department received a complaint of males drinking alcohol on the beach. Officers located a resident drinking alcohol from a glass bottle. The individual stated he was unaware that consuming alcohol on the beach was not permissible. He was administered a verbal warning and counseled on the restrictions, and required to depose of the alcoholic beverage. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/24/16 Found Property North Municipal Lot Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbour officer found a men's wallet in the North Municipal Parking Lot. Utilizing investigative means, the officer was able to identify the owner and located his home address in Bay Harbour Islands. OVER ON Chief of Polic i Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/24/16 Possible Code Violation 202 Bal Bay Drive (ICW) Narrative / Comments The Bal Harbour Police Department received a call from a resident regarding a vessel encroaching on the residences playing very loud music. The Bal Harbour Police Marine Patrol was immediately dispatched to the area. Upon arriving the area was thoroughly checked, however no vessel anchored or near the residential homes was located. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/24/16 Capsized Vessel 10100 Block Beach Side Narrative / Comments A 32 foot power vessel with four persons on board was exiting the Haulover Cut when it began to take on water. Fearing that the vessel may sink, the captain decided to beach the vessel near the 10100 block of Collins Avenue. All persons on board were able to come ashore. However, the vessel capsized on its starboard side due to the surf. A salvage company responded and began the salvage efforts to remove the vessel from the shoreline. While coordinating the salvage efforts, sea tow entered the Bal Harbour Marina in order to meet with the capsized boat captain. A resident on his Yacht awoke and believed that he observed a man fall overboard from a 75 Foot Hatteras docked in the marina. The resident called 911 which in turn dispatched serval agencies to the area including Miami Dade Police Aviation. The resident initially provided a location out by the sand bar, however once Bal Harbour units arrived they determined that both calls were one in the same and that no one had fallen overboard. All agencies were notified and cleared the area. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/25/16 Suspicious Person 9600 Collins Avenue (SunTrust Bank) Narrative / Comments While conducting an area check of the property, a Bal Harbour officer located a male sleeping at the top of the exterior staircase. The officer conducted an investigative inquiry and determined the male was homeless. A routine background check did not reveal any active warrants or adverse criminal history. OVERTON Chief of Police "HARB Date Incident/Arrest L cation 04/27/16 Burglary Auto 9700 Collins Avenue Bal Harbour Shops Parking Garage Narrative / Comments On this date the Bal Harbour Police Department investigated two vehicle burglaries that occurred at the Bal Harbour Shops parking garage in the early evening. A firearm with other miscellaneous property was stolen from the vehicles. While the firearm was being entered into the national crime database, it was discovered that the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department had already recovered the firearm. Further investigation of the incident revealed the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department had responded to the area of Haulover Park due to suspicious males looking into parked vehicles. Upon their arrival the suspects fled in a vehicle leading police into a residential area in Sunny Isles Beach where two out of three suspects were apprehended after a foot chase. The firearm as well as the stolen property from the BHPD case were located in the vehicle thus linking the individuals to the crimes. Both individuals were charged with Armed Burglary and Grand Theft. Date Incident/Arrest Location 04/28/2016 Simple Battery 9703 Collins Avenue/Beach Path Narrative / Comments Two individuals were on the hardpack behind the St. Regis Hotel, one was walking and the other riding a bicycle. The bicyclist claimed that the walker slapped him on the arm as he was riding past. The walker denied striking the cyclist and there were no independent witnesses. Both parties refused to sign victim statements and left the area. The incident was documented. Completed by: Captain M.
