HomeMy Public PortalAbout063-1993 - APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 1994 POLIORDINANCE NO. 63-1993 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 1994 POLICE OFFICER SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS Indiana Code 36-8-3-3 (d) requires Common Council to fix the annual compensation of all police officers by ordinance before August 2 of each year for the ensuing budget year, and WHEREAS such an ordinance was not timely adopted because a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Richmond and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal order of Police was still being negotiated, and WHEREAS it is now possible to adopt a police officer salary ordinance because the parties have reached an agreement on salary levels for 1994, NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during calendar year 1994, to wit: Section 1 - Police Department Bi-Weekly Salar 1.01 Captain (6) 1,039.54 1.02 Lieutenant (5) 985.69 1.03 Sergeant (5) 958.77 1.04 Investigator (11) 939.54 1.05 Patrolman (47) 902.77 Section 2 - Additional Compensation 3.01 In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Section I above, the members of the Police Department bargaining unit shall receive overtime pay, paid holidays, longevity pay, a clothing allowance, shift pay, educational incentive pay, and certification -acceptance pay as more fully set forth in the current collective bargaining agreement between the City of Richmond and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police. The specific commitment refers to the automatic re -opener to negotiate salaries for 1994 under Article 36 - Effective Date. The parties therefore agree to amend Article 16 - Wages as follows: Article 16 - Wages Wages for the year 1994 shall be paid by the City to members of the F.O.P. Bargaining Unit as follows: Patrolman (Annual) $23,472.00 A permanent wage differential per year in the ranks over patrolman is established as follows: Investigator Sergeant Lieutenant Captain $ 956.00 $1,456.00 $2,156.00 $3,556.00 Wages will be paid on a bi-weekly basis. The first pay check of each year will be issued no later than the 14th day of January. Article 36 - Effective Date The parties agree to the correction of replacing the reference of 1993 with 1994 (last sentence) - Article 36 (c).
