A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN APPEAL TO THE STATE
BOARD OF TAX COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS it has been determined that it is necessary to seek relief from property tax levy
limitations in order to maintain essential services and functions including the
safety of the citizens of the City of Richmond, and
WHEREAS Indiana Code �- 1.t- (f s-I3(?- uires the Richmond Common Council to authorize
the filing of said appeal,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that it is deemed necessary to initiate an appeal to the State Board of Tax Commissioners for an
increase in the tax levy for the City of Richmond for taxes payable in 1994 in order to maintain
essential services and functions including the safety of the citizens of the City of Richmond, and
that the resolution made herein in the form of a special ordinance be signed by Mayor Roger
Cornett and Council President Etta Lundy as provided in Indiana Code
