Narrative / Comments
Bal Harbour Police were summoned to the area of the Ritz Carlton Hotel regarding a red laser
beam illuminating from a balcony of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The anonymous caller said the laser
beam was aimed at passing vehicles travelling north on Collins Avenue. Bal Harbour officers
responded and conducted a canvass of the surrounding area. Officers were unable to locate the
alleged laser beam; Ritz Carlton personnel were notified of the incident. No damages or injuries
were reported.

Road Closures/Haulover Bridge

Narrative / Comments
Due to multiple road construction projects on the 10200 block of Collins Avenue and the Haulover
Bridge, off -duty Bal Harbour police officers were assigned to specific traffic posts along the Collins
Avenue corridor to mitigate and address any potential traffic congestion issues. No traffic crashes
or complaints were received.

Memorial Day Weekend Preparation

Narrative / Comments
In anticipation of the increase in visitors for Memorial Day weekend, the Bal Harbour Police
Department devised a comprehensive operational plan to address the potential influx of vehicular
and pedestrian traffic. Additionally, officers will be assigned to the beach and North Municipal Lot
to ensure compliance with all Bal Harbour Village ordinances.

Narrative / Comments
A resident stated he left his surfboard in a designated area in the parking garage. When he
returned to retrieve it the next day he discovered that unknown person(s) removed the property.
Security personnel and BHPD will review the security footage in attempts to identify the offender.
