OVERTON Chief of Police 10,04 Off. Noteworthy Incidents The incidents listed below are included in the above totals. However they are sufficient interest to be noted. Date Incident/Arrest Location 06/19/16 Disturbance / Code Violation 10185 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments Officers were dispatched to the Plaza reference two residents involved in an argument. The disturbance was the result of one resident who video recorded another resident with a dog on the beach and not on a leash. The investigation resulted with the resident receiving a Code Violation (second offense) for having a loose dog on the beach. Both parties were also referred to the State Attorney's Office regarding conflicting assault allegations. Date Incident/Arrest Location 06/21/16 Criminal Mischief 10200 Block of Collins Avenue North Municipal Parking Lot Narrative / Comments During morning field rollcall, officer discovered a that the plastic A -Frame Beach/Jetty restrictions notice sign was missing. Upon conducting an area canvass, a man fishing advised the officers that a female who was also fishing, had picked up the sign a threw it over the sea wall into the Haulover Cut. The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, advised that he overheard the female and her male companion making disparaging remarks because Bal Harbour officers were conducting parking enforcement in the North Lot. Date Incident/Arrest Location 10275 Collins Avenue 06/21/16 Theft Harbour House Cafe Narrative / Comments The owner/operator of the Cafe inside the Harbour House reported that between Saturday and Tuesday unknown persons removed 2,400 dollars in cash from the office. OVERTOChief of Police Date Incident/Arrest Location 06/22/16 Noise Complaint 10295 Collins Avenue Narrative / Comments A Bal Harbour police officer was flagged down by a concerned resident in reference to excessive noise coming from the Ritz/One Bal Harbour building. The noise was isolated to a large Carbon Monoxide fan located in the underground parking garage. Code supervisor was contacted and upon making contact with management we learned that a fan motor was experiencing mechanical issues and was scheduled for immediate repairs. Completed by: Captain M.
