WHEREAS Indiana Code 36-7-9-14(a) authorizes the establishment of an Unsafe Building
Fund, and
WHEREAS any balance remaining at the end of the calendar year in said fund shall be
carried over in the fund for the following year and does not revert to the General
Fund, and
WHEREAS it is desirable to establish such a fund to receive money from any source,
including appropriations by local, state or federal governments, and donations.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that an Unsafe Building Fund is hereby established pursuant to Indiana Code 36-7-9-14(a). Any
balance remaining at the end of the calendar year shall be carried over in the fund for the following
year and does not revert to the General Fund. Money for the Unsafe Building Fund may be
received from any source, including appropriations by local, state or federal governments, and
donations. Money may be used for the expenses incurred in carrying out the purposes of Indiana
Code 11-7-9-14(c) subsections (1) through (7) as currently set forth and as amended from time to
time. Payment of money from the Unsafe Building Fund shall be made by order of the Board of
Public Works and Safety in accordance with applicable laws.
Passed and adopted this 6th day of December, 1993, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
