Subject: Hazardous Household Waste and Electronics Items Drop -Off Event
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide you with information regarding the
upcoming hazardous household waste and electronic items drop-off event that will be held in
the parking lot of Village Hall on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
This will be an opportunity for residents to drop off hazardous waste, batteries and electronics
that cannot be disposed of in the Village's regular garbage or recycling receptacles. Many
products in our homes, such as oil -based paint, solvents, pesticides and pool chemicals are
as hazardous as industrial chemicals. When these products are disposed of improperly, they
can pollute our drinking water. Therefore, for the convenience of our residents, hazardous
items or electronics can be dropped off at this planned semiannual Village event, or
alternatively, throughout the year at an appropriate Miami Dade -County disposal facility.
This information will also be transmitted within the July Bal Harbour Village Newsletter.
